Post your name, along with what character(s) you play.
If you want, specify particular areas you would like feedback on! (It's okay to ask for just general feedback!)
Indicate whether or not you're okay with anonymous feedback. (It's totally cool if you don't.) You can also post links to your character's personal HMD if you'd prefer comments there.
Reply to other people telling them how you think they are doing.
Be polite and objective! If someone says they're cool with anonymous crit, that is not an invitation to be unfriendly. No one likes a Diamond Tiara! If you have something negative to say about somebody else's playing, make your points politely and suggest ways to improve. To give an example:
X - Unhelpful Diamond Tiara - "Jeez, Terri, can you learn to type? You've got about a billion typos in your posts!"
O - Helpful Not Diamond Tiara - "Hi, Terri, I noticed you have a number of typos in your posts. Something you might want to do is give your posts that one last look-over before hitting submit. It would really help with readability!"
?????
PROFIT
You don't have to post your own characters to give other people feedback! You don't have to post your characters at all if you don't want to. It is 100% OPTIONAL. If you do post, we would encourage you to give feedback to at least one other person!
Well, it was the same week-or-two time frame; correlation may not imply causality. Still, that was about the point that things turned around.
Regarding Coco: be more active with her. I can't really HAVE any thoughts because aside from a few threads with Rarity and the Hearts and Hooves thing, we've hardly SEEN her. She's also harder to get a read on because she's a very timid character, so it's a lot harder to get a good bead on what is and isn't consistent with her voice.
Yes, I do know I have a few problems with Nozomi and shunting her into the spotlight at the expense of the other, but please tell me if there are others.
Aside from what's already said, I think your Sonic and Derpy are still pretty good. I would like to see Caliburn react more since Sonic still has him with, but that's just me.
Yeah, sorry about that. I've been having a bit of a tricky time with her since her voice is not nearly as strong as Tails', plus there's not much she can really do. The only reason I haven't dropped her yet is because of the Kreutzer romance. I'm hoping this month will give her more things to do or at least give me five more comments to be able to pass AC.
Things should pick up during Fourth Wall or immediately after, I'm sure.
I've learned, though, that sometimes forcing a character may do short-term damage to the voice, but will generally help you with learning what the voice actually is LIKE; I can't really recommend it, but I'd say if nothing else, it's worth giving a try before just giving up completely?
Yeah hopefully having Coco meet more people will get more of a reaction out of her.
I'll try that. I do want to give it one more try before deciding if keeping her around for the sake of the Kreutzer romance is worth it or not. I feel bad for being so slow/inactive with her.
It might help to just throw her in the deep end. I may be basing this suggestion pretty heavily on her appearance on the show, but try finding a situation where she either has to go along with something she thinks is wrong or take a risk by making a stand, and play out the consequences of whatever decision she makes. Give yourself something meaty to work with and it will be easier to flesh her out and make some friends and/or enemies for her.
Throw her to the deep end, eh? Well I have been too nice with her lately so I might try to figure out how to set that up.
I know there's awkwardness with her and Kreutzer because of Hearts & Hooves day, so if Coco got jealous or was forced to come out sooner than she was ready for, that could make some interesting possibilities.
Mostly I'd like to see more of your Doctor. Also, I haven't been stalking your threads with absolute regularity, so you might have already addressed it, but I'd like to see more about how he feels about still being stuck here a year on. Eleven has the capacity to settle down in a way Ten would have struggled with, though I can see him being frustrated at being forced to settle down into one time and place. Is he frustrated with the situation, resigned to it, or out and out decided to just go with the flow and enjoy being a pony while it lasts?
I just have to say that MLJ mods are best mods. You're so understanding and different things and stuff and you go our of your way to integrate different people into different plots, such as Hiro for the griffon plot, MayTwi for the Nightmare Night plot, and Queen Melissa was also an awesome character for the plot. I'd love to see more of her.
As for stuff you can improve on? STOP STEALING THE COOKIES FROM THE COOKIE JAR.
We're always play Nozomi and MayTwi together, so it's interesting to see how these two interact, especially with recent events. I need to figure out a way to get the rest of my guys interacting with the others, though...!
Although I already said this on plurk a while ago, you should be a little careful with how much power you give Twilight. I know she's canonly over-powered a little, but too many powers could make her come off like a Mary-sue.
Otherwise, your Twilight is still a joy to interact with and she's very IC. Even with her AU-ness. If that's makes any sense.
Dante's still as fun as ever. Chrysalis is wonderfully bitchy and I hope she snaps soon. and Kreutzer is fun to play with Coco.
YOU HAVE A VERY DISTORTED SENSE OF HUBRIS ACTUALLY but let's not get into that. We've danced that dance many a time.
Tagging out with people other than Dash and Zetta seems to in general be a weakness for you; you only seem to do such when forced to (via AC requirements) or when there's existing relationships (Flare/Dust, Morgan/Nephenee, Boo/Vinyl when they were both in the game). Don't be afraid of being a little pushy! We won't bite, and all of your characters are well-played and compelling!
My problem generally seems to be that Rainbow and especially Zetta are always more entertaining contributors to a thread than anyone else, at least in my mind. Zecora has her storefront now, and Morgan has the dojo, but I really need to get those two and Dust involved in something that keeps them more out-front.
I'm not trying to defend Riki any here, but having played a Twilight of my own, let me say that it's a dangerous dance, keeping things balanced with a sparklebutt. She wants to learn, and in a panfandom game, she'll be given opportunities to learn. Throw in the whole Element of Magic thing and she can learn, which ends up with her ending up in a kinda overpowered Power Copier state without even meaning to be.
It's even more exaggerated when she's now got two panfandoms under her belt with Mayfield and MLJ; that said I think there's something to be said about willingly refraining from giving her power that she doesn't need to work for. As an example, the Kamen Rider/SMT4 stuff might be a smidge excessive, I feel, but at the same time, the things Lucifer taught her are less overwhelming because she's still expending effort and energy TO learn them.
Well as long as things keep going pear-shaped, Dust will get plenty of opportunities to get out and about. There's plenty of things willing to attack innocent ponies.
This is a major problem I have with some of our large-scale events, like the Tasty Cat Polka: by the time I get to them, I have absolutely no place in them. This is the number one reason Dust isn't involved right now: I have nowhere to put him and no idea what to do with him. I had this same problem with the Changeling battle as well, to name another instance. I just feel like these events are brick walls to me.
