+1 Cowardly Sidekick
It's Kathryn here, Handy's mun, finally picking up my second MLJ character! Meet Papageno of The Magic Flute, Mozart's last opera (if you're curious, the summary on TVTropes covers it pretty well -- YMMV on whether it's a subtle satire of racism and sexism, or if it's just plain racist and sexist, so be warned). As cowardly sidekick, Papageno's hobbies include petty hedonism, complaining, and being completely unintellectual (he's functionally illiterate, so don't expect to see him in any text threads). Also, birds. He's really into birds. He's got a little magic glockenspiel that has the power to make anyone who hears it feel such overwhelming joy that they burst into dance, too, which might be good in the coming days of horrible shadow things in this terrifying pony world.
Speaking of shadow event, there will be no Shadow Papageno. He knows he's a coward, and he has no problem with that. This is still not going to be a happy time for him, and he'll probably need a rescue from the various shadows around Ponyville pretty much immediately.

ETA: I'll take this opportunity to let anyone unaware know that I've started actually using my Plurk. If you want to add me on there, I'm YawningDodo.

You win the obscurest muse award. My dad didn't even remember this opera, and he used to go to a bunch of them.
