How's My Driving Meme!

HOW'S MY DRIVING?

Hello, Equestrians! Its time for a game-wide HMD!

Here's how it works:

  1. Post your name, along with what character(s) you play.
  2. If you want, specify particular areas you would like feedback on! (It's okay to ask for just general feedback!)
  3. Indicate whether or not you're okay with anonymous feedback. (It's totally cool if you don't.) You can also post links to your character's personal HMD if you'd prefer comments there.
  4. Reply to other people telling them how you think they are doing.
  5. Be polite and objective! If someone says they're cool with anonymous crit, that is not an invitation to be unfriendly. No one likes a Diamond Tiara!
If you have something negative to say about somebody else's playing, make your points politely and suggest ways to improve. To give an example:
    • X - Unhelpful Diamond Tiara - "Jeez, Terri, can you learn to type? You've got about a billion typos in your posts!"
    • O - Helpful Not Diamond Tiara - "Hi, Terri, I noticed you have a number of typos in your posts. Something you might want to do is give your posts that one last look-over before hitting submit. It would really help with readability!"
  6. ?????
  7. PROFIT

You don't have to post your own characters to give other people feedback! You don't have to post your characters at all if you don't want to. It is 100% OPTIONAL. If you do post, we would encourage you to give feedback to at least one other person!

Flattery is welcome just as much as concrit!

Can I suggest a point 4, about openness to plots? In my own comments and elsewhere, there's a fear of mod favoritism, since people don't see that all these big plots I've done, I've specifically come to you guys and asked about, usually months ahead of time. Making clear the openness to large-scale plots like that and what you'd look for and expect might clear that up a bit and encourage more people to put stuff up like that.

I think a lot of us are shy about this because it's kind of intimidating, having very little basis on what's acceptable and what's not. I mean...the worst we get is a no, right?

It might help if we had a free for all hybrid CR/plotting meme, where we throw out all our character development and plot ideas, big and small, and connect to others with similar goals. Like, these are random examples of the kind of stuff that could be thrown on it:

Example: I want Strong Bad to take up the Space Captainface mantle again, take this baby TO THE MOON, and totally con the moon ponies into rejoining Equestria. Who'd want to?

Or: The end goal for Doc here is to shift his sciencing toward more positive ends, like he's seen with Tadashi and Baymax. What can the science crew do to improve life in Ponyville? Or abroad?

Some ideas are best done solo, of course, but it might make some of us more comfortable to try to work on a small group?

THANK YOU for putting this out there. I will admit to being nervous as well to bring things forward for my own characters, partially out of self-esteem, partially from bad experiences with mods in previous games. But you guys have been super inviting and helpful, and I thank y'all for that.

I think we need to make sure we have it front and center that we encourage this at MLJJ. I think that would help alleviate nerves in our game, and this may bring about an influx of new ideas! Is it possible to find a way to collaborate with players a bit on that? Like, in my case, I'm terrible at ideas, but I love collabing with people and making things work. I'm not sure how to do that without revealing too much about things, though.
