Let's All Jump Into A Horrible Death Goddess The Sequel: The Prequel
As Jappleack's been letting folks know, she's going to be jumping into Calice a fourth time soon, and there's a whole big party coming with her. There are two main things Japple really wants to do in this trip. The first is lead a group to specifically talk with Calice, specifically taking any of the Mane 6 and their variations that she can to talk with Calice since Japple is certain Calice is a version of Twilight. A second group will be going to follow up on a lead they might have with some of those stuck in Calice. Alongside this, the second group might have another possibility of finding one of the Discord's stuck inside Calice. So far, this means that a lot of the Mane Six and variants and members of Team Dandy are going.
Along with that? Jappleack wants people who aren't part of either of those groups to get a chance to go inside so they get a better chance to understand what they're up against and who Calice is. Because of that, she'll choose from five people out of a list of volunteers, as she announced in her last post.
As Calice Dive logs aren't something that really have 'plotting' ahead of time, this is more or less an organization/roll call and information post to get things organized ahead of time. The log is going to be big and it'd be best to get a few things known and set up before attempting it. The dive itself will still need a set date, but I'll be hoping to get to working it so it's set up either at the end of this week or beginning of next.
So a few things before we set up.}
GENERAL INFORMATION ON DIVING INTO CALICE:
Here's a few things you might want to know, IC and OOC, about going into Calice. It should be assumed that if it isn't known yet, it is known now (or most of it is) ICly and that Jappleack will inform anyone volunteering to go about this.
1. Diving into Calice is a spiritual/mental experience. This means anyone going is forcing their soul into Calice, leaving their bodies behind and essentially dead for the duration of the time they're gone. That being said, it is possible to take objects in and out of Calice, although it can be assumed that if they bring something too intrusive into Calice (or take something from her) that Calice will notice.
2. Speaking of which, time moves differently inside Calice. The log essentially goes in real time meaning that while a day may not pass in the thread, a day in real life is a day your character is considered to be inside Calice. So one trip of a hour or so in the characters perception might be several days. That being said, anyone who goes into Calice will still be assumed to have returned before the two year event starts at the end of March if the log is still going. Thus anyone who participates in going into Calice will still be able to participate in the two year event.
3. It's possible to be caught by Calice. The result of this is that leads to memory loss of the jump. That leads to memory loss of the jump.
With that out of the way, let's talk organization and roll calling for those going.
Roll Call and Organization
1. Anyone who is a Mane Six or Team Dandy member that wants to come will be coming and doesn't have to sign up for random choice.
2. That being said, I'd like to keep it to one character per player. That means that if you have a character that is Mane Six and a second character who is a member of Team Dandy? Please sign up only one. The log is going to be pretty huge to begin with, thus it'd be best to allow both the maximum number of players to participate and cut down on any slowdown that might occur by having to juggle two characters in the thread in different areas.
3. For those going, inform if you want to be part of the Talk to Calice group or the Talk with the Insiders group. This is for Mane Six and Team Dandy to consider as well. While Japple was mainly hoping for any Mane Six that go to mainly be helping with talking with Calice and hoping that might reach her, she's not going to disagree with any who'd rather help talk with those stuck inside Calice. Similarly, while she mainly thought of it being the Mane Six and all their flavors to talk with Calice, she's certainly not going to stop anyone else who wants to try and talk with her.
4. Same deal for any who want to sign up for the random choice. Pick a group you'd like to go with. Also, if you're signing someone up for one of the 'lucky' five for this trip, you can sign up multiple characters who would want to go, although if one of them is chosen only that one will get to go in.
I'll be using an RNG to decide who of the five randoms will be getting to go, and will inform everyone of who was chosen around Friday morning, so sign ups for this will last until Thursday night.
Below, I'll give an example of signing out character information for your character so we can get this organized.

I'll be leaving this sign up open for tonight, as I'll be putting up the log tomorrow, but for now these are the tentative groups.
As for the layout of the log itself, we should probably discuss that. Usually, the log begins with a small "pre" jump talk and then into the action. Because of the size of everything, I'm thinking of making three headers: one for 'pre' jump where everyone can talk, and one for each of the groups.
Alongside this, with the size of this log we may want to decide how to do tags. Usually there's an established tagging order, but it might be easier to have a more chaotic, even flow of tagging between characters, at least for the Calice thread. A tagging order might still work but it'd be hard. On top of this, I've kind of gotten hogtied as my work in night shift has been extended a week, so while there might be a tagging order established for the Insiders thread, I'd say go ahead and 'skip' through Jappleack's replies a lot of the time because I'm only going to be able to tag sporadically. So don't expect Japple to tag every time it's her "turn" because I'd hold things up too much, though give me a few times to get something in.
That's my opinion at least. If anyone else has some ideas as how to organize this, let's get 'em out there and get 'em done!
