OOC Plotting Post: BIG SHADOW BOSS THROWDOWN WOOO!

So...uh, this boss fight was literally planned out like an hour ago. So it's kind of on the fly.

Anyway, this is the big fight going down on the 15th which will lead into what Yukiko will do for morale support and Yu shooing the fog out. But before then, Yu did something really stupid and denied himself like an idiot.

Result ended up being a huge shadow and...well...if anyone has played Persona 3...end boss. Yeah.

So anyway, this IS an open log for anyone wanting to get involved. However since plurk is kinda a pain in the flank, I figured that posting here would help.

So during the battle, what will your characters be doing? Support? Going LEEROY JENKINS? This is the place to chat with us and figure out a battle plan.

Since Yu's sort of out of the picture at the moment, Minato's going to try to take the role of leader and keep an eye out for everyone during the fight, keeping everybody from interfering with each other. Probably not everyone will follow his orders, but he's going to try.

and also throw in a pep-talk once he learns that the big thing is Yu's Shadow.

A few notes on how Shadow Yu is going to operate:

* If you've played Persona 3, you probably already get the idea, but each of the 21 masks on Shadow Yu (see the log for full description) represent one of the Social Links -- and the Arcana that goes with them -- that Yu holds within himself.

* There will actually be 22 battle phases; the first one will repeat itself in the end. Easy, right? Ha ha, no. The Arcana story is the Fool's journey, and once he gets to the end he becomes the World.

* Each mask will be more powerful than the last. Thankfully, each one only lasts for one hit, so if you manage to land a hit, great! That mask is done! Problem is you can't cheat by hitting all the masks at once; only the active mask can be damaged.

* Once all 22 masks are beaten, the battle is over.

Anyone want a magical nuke? Because Maytwi here can do that. She can be supportive, if the situation demands it, but magical nuke. Also trying to be the voice of reason since this is a Twilight we're talking about. Of course there's going to be friendship talk from her if she gets involved.

Meanwhile, Dante is there to help make the fight be more bearable since he's definitively hax, even in canon. In fact, since he's been broing it up with his shadow the entire time, you'll actually get two Dantes when you order one! What a bargain!

Harvey probably won't be much good on his own against a giant horrible boss Shadow. He's got a gun, but that's about it. His Persona, on the other hand, is a legendary Pokemon that can breathe fire, so there's that. Probably going to be focusing on burning all his enemies and dragging hurt people out of danger, though he has no healing abilities and so isn't much of a support really.

Ok so this is what Yukiko will be doing:

Unlike prior to the past week with all the shadows running around, she'll be mostly support majoring in healing since this Big Boss will most likely hit hard. She'll also be playing protector for Yu since he's in no shape to face himself.

Well, not yet anyway.

Unnnnnnfortunately, York has not unlocked the power of friendship the inner self, and thus does not have a persona. And considering how he's much better with guns than with melee, this is not a fight he can win. Or even really do much in.

So he's going to be on the sidelines, probably trying to do something other than watch uselessly. :C

So Handy absolutely wants to be involved and Helping People, but...well, I don't know what his Persona can actually do (he's got Janus, and he's Temperance). How specific do we need to get in determining the Personas' abilities before wading into this? Also, he's not exactly all that big on throwing punches; he's going to be more interested in providing distractions and protecting others.

If it's not too late, Tails can be supporting with healing as well as burn enemy shadows with his persona.

Edit: However if I'm required to have a plurk account to get into the log, then I'm fine handwaving Tails' involvement with the boss fight.

Flare, when she gets put into the log, will be The Tank. Give her your def buffs and heals, she will soak ALL your damage.

Of course, she's also running Cu Chulainn, who's got a kind of nasty Ice weakness and a pretty shallow moveset... and she's likely going to be spamming Deathbound every chance she has an opening to attack because BRUTE FORCE FIXES EVERYTHING RIGHT

Alright, sure, Alastor will throw in his two bits...even though he's still working out how to use a sword as a pony. Oops. But he can control lightning, teleport and is a skilled flier. He's not quite as broken as the other demons in the game since he's not a protag or big bad, but he does have a lot of hax. However...I'm not yet sure if he managed to get his Persona, since he's being a stubborn idiot and arguing with his Shadow as far as his threads have gotten.

I'm also not sure if I want to go canon mythology gag or RL mythology gag for his Personas identity. Either way, though, it's going to be something big.

As stated before, when I feel its comedically appropriate, Lyra will show up to hurl a pie.

So I kinda want in on this...but I failed and never posted Sollux confronting his Shadow anywhere. Would it be okay to just handwave that part?
Or, alternately, he's got powers of his own and won't really need a persona to aid in fighting. He may have no idea what's up, but big boss fight = fun and a good way to relieve stress :3

Nephenee has Strength as her Arcana, and Pallas Athena as her Ponysona. It's a Support Persona somewhat (She has Sukukaja and Rakukaja [Party Agility and Defense up, respectively]) along with Garu (or Garula, not sure which) and Swift Strike.

Her own skills are primarily offense, though her defense makes her a tank, and she's going all out for this. She'll do her best to protect others, so let me know if they need protecting.

If taunting works on the Shadow, she'll try to distract it too. Your call on if that would even work though.
