A Wrap up For Dreams

Hey Team!

While THIS LOG is still in progress, it's taking a while to get to the end, so we're here to give you an update on some changes that have occurred since the close of the Dream Event.
  • Luna (AU), Celestia (AU), Pyrrha, Littlepip, and Wally were able to successfully complete their mission to find a cure for the dreaming sickness and capture the culprit, Easy Lift.
  • The cure is the scales from some naturally-immune fish located in an underground lake in the Diamond Mines that they discovered with the help of the NPC Diamond Dog, Ruby. Luna and co will have distributed the cure in the real world and in dreams for anyone who's disappeared.
  • Easy Lift led them on a merry chase through the tunnels until she ran into some very dangerous, amnesia-inducing mushrooms down there. She presently has no idea where she got the potion she did, what she did, or even who she is. Luna and the others will likely be assigning her a new name and keeping her in Ponyville with the thought to rehabilitate Easy now that she doesn't have all of the angry baggage that she did before.
  • The Diamond Dogs may be considered allies of the Equestrian monarchs and the Diamond Mines are now a RELATIVELY SAFE and open access area in the game. They're described more below.

The Diamond Mines
This is an area inhabited largely by Diamond Dogs. There is an Underground Lake that's large, clear, and supporting some colorless fish for life. The cavern it's house in is enormous and features glowing crystals that the Diamond Dogs mine as light sources. These crystals are scattered throughout the mines and come in a variety of colors. There are also gems studding the walls, though there are areas around the Diamond Dog Main Home Cavern that are more obviously decorated with gemstones in patterns.

The upper levels of the mine are fairly safe, if a little prone to changing thanks to tunnel collapse and the Diamond Dogs shifting tunnels for their mining. Going deeper will lead to strange and dangerous mushrooms, pools with peculiar properties, and possibly even monsters. All of that is to say, IT'S UP TO YOUR DISCRETION. As long as characters aren't causing major havoc, you can play around with this new 'dungeon,' though you won't find any power-up treasures there like the Canterlot basement. There still might be the chance for short-term Equestrian magical effects, though. Maybe there's a pool down there that turns your legs to jelly for a while! Or a mushroom that makes you have to walk backwards.

Main NPCs for request in this area if you want them:
  • Ruby - Irish setter-esque Diamond Dog who's a little more trusting and guiltily obligated toward ponies than most other Diamond Dogs. She considers herself a friend and advocate for the ponies with other Dogs. She likes singing and will be particularly helpful in directing you if you bring her biscuits.
  • Alpha - St. Bernard-esque Diamond Dog who is the leader of his people. He's an arrogant fellow and tends to look down on those who aren't Dogs. If you're rude to him, you'll get kicked out of the nicer areas of the tunnels, even if you won't get kicked out of the mines completely. Tread carefully if your character is a hot-shot. He doesn't forget insults easily and the new truce with the above-ground creatures is a fragile one.
